Accessibility statement

Reviewed on 20/10/2026

We want anyone to be able to use DATAIAO, including with a screen reader, with the keyboard only or with the screen magnified.

We take the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, as our target.

Current status

DATAIAO is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA: we have not yet carried out a full audit, and there are parts we know do not fully comply (see below).

What we already do:

  • A "Skip to content" link at the start of every page and keyboard navigation, with the focus always visible.
  • Forms with labels and error messages linked to each field.
  • Chat answers are announced to screen readers as they arrive.
  • Alternative text on meaningful images and descriptions on icon-only buttons.
  • The system preference to reduce motion is respected.
  • The site adapts to small screens and can be zoomed without losing content.

Known limitations

  • AI answers are generated automatically: sometimes they have little structure (no headings or lists), which makes them harder to navigate with a screen reader.
  • The Bluetooth OBD reader needs a browser that supports Web Bluetooth (Chrome or Edge on desktop or Android); it isn't available in other browsers. You can type the codes or read them from a photo.
  • Voice dictation depends on the browser and may not be available.
  • Charts on some pages do not yet have a complete text alternative.
  • We have not checked the colour contrast of every screen.
  • Pages shared by other people (reports and conversations) show the content as they wrote it.
